Sometimes, there are days when you wake up and crave two things – good South Indian breakfast and a decent road trip! Vattika provides one such great escape. Located on the Mysore Road, the restaurant provides the perfect distance for an early morning drive coupled with good South Indian food!
The property is hard to miss with good signage across the road and you will not be surprised at the number of cars parked outside! Once you enter inside, Vattika is a nice little heaven of a garden and ‘Malgudi Days’ hidden in the hustle and bustle of the city traffic! The interiors are done with village theme and provide a unique experience for the customer. There are multiple locations to sit around – both open and closed. There is nearly always waiting, so be ready to stand till you wait. We did saw a couple of pet dogs on the property, which makes it a pet-friendly place.
Moving to the food, we got what we expected. We were hungry after the short road trip from Whitefields and ordered multiple dishes. Our idlis and vadas came on time and were well prepared. The masala dosa was decent but the ghee roast dosa could have been better. The misal pav was great and so was the vanilla shake! All in all, it was a nice morning breakfast with loads of talks and fun. Service is manageable and no complaints since we didn’t face any issues.
Food Ordered: Mini Idlis with Sambhar, Vada Sambhar, Misal Pav, Ghee Roast Dosa, Masala Dosa and Vanila Milkshake!
Location – 5/5 (Located on the outskirts of Bengaluru City, along with the Mysore Highway – it provides a chance to have a decent drive enjoying good company!)
Ambiance – 5/5 (Outdoor seating is perfect for breakfast and evening dinner; the indoor has been designed based on ‘Malgudi days’ theme, which lets you experience an old village theme.)
Staff – 4/5 (I did not face any issue with service or time but I did not feel particularly well attended to, maybe because of the high footfall in the property.)
Food – 4.5/5 (With delicious options to choose from, there is no complaint about the taste, quantity, and quality of the food coming out of their kitchen!)
Value for Money – 5/5 (Perfect price for perfect food!)
What’s good? Mini Idlis with Sambhar and Vanilla Milkshake!
What’s bad? Even though the outside seating is relaxed, the property houses a lot of guests throughout the day which makes it little rushed instead!
