Bengaluru is known for it’s love for food and drinks. An average Bangalorean would visit more restaurants and bars in a year than in any other city. There are new places opening up every week – which significantly reduces the chances of going back to a restaurant which you have already been to. Although sometimes there are small nuances, which will want you to come back for more – be it the decor, a particular dish, the staff, the service, the discount or simply the memories you made. For me, Baithak would qualify for a second visit – based on many reasons.
Baithak is a casual dining, hookah lounge and bar, located at the HSR Layout’s busy street. The street in itself is full of some of the most amazing food joints in the city, which also make for some tough competition. Baithak, as the name suggests, is all about chilling out. The set up is super cozy which a hip vibe all around. They have limited space but the space is well used to ensure comfort, privacy and easy access. The moment you enter, the decor might feel mix of things put together but it slowly grows onto you. The dull background along with the trendy colour provide the perfect aura for a chilled out evening. They have two storey seating. Ground floor is more of a hookah lounge in contrast to the top floor which feel like a sports bar. The overall ambiance suits perfectly for the crowd it caters – people coming to have a amazing time with their loved ones. The place attracts majorly the students, youngsters and the couples.
The vibrant menu provides varied options from finger food, bar food, burgers, pizzas, Indian dishes and deserts. The magnificent menu is equally complimented by the kitchen staff who do justice to most of the dishes. Whatever we tried, we were surprised by either the taste or the presentation. Specific mentions for tandoori murgh, house of fries, garlic bread, paneer tikka, pav bhaji fondue and the pizzas. The dishes were sumptuous and full of flavours. Surprisingly, there was nothing wrong with any of them. Baithak also has wide collection of hookahs and drinks available. No complaints there! Although, special mention is to definitely try hookahs here – you would love it.
The service at Baithak was one of the high points of the evenings. The special care and service which the staff provide are worth every penny.
Location – 5/5 (Located conveniently on the HSR Layout makes it centrally located and convenient to reach which makes it a great location for the restaurant.)
Ambiance – 4/5 (Cozy seating, lovely ambiance, sports pub first floor, chilled out environment and trendy decor)
Staff – 5/5 (No complaints whatsoever!)
Food – 4/5 (With delicious options to choose from, there is no complaint about the taste, quantity, and quality of the food coming out of their kitchen! )
Value for Money – 4/5 (Perfect price for perfect food!)
What’s good? Tandoori Chicken and Pav Bhaji fondue! It’s football season, go and enjoy the screenings!
What’s bad? Just a suggestion – the menu can be little trimmed down to focus on their speciality which would make it easier for customers to order from.
Keep following. Cheers.
